Show Compressed Files in an Alternate Color (Windows NT/2000/XP)

This setting controls whether compressed files and folders are shown in explorer using a different color to make them easily distinguishable.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, named "ShowCompColor" and set it to equal "1" to enable the use of alternate colors or "0" to use the default colors.

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
